butter or margarine |

all-purpose flour |

vegetable stock |

1 1/4 cups |
milk |
|
2 3/4 oz |
Cheddar cheese, grated |

1 tsp |
Dijon mustard |
|
1 tbsp |
chopped fresh basil |

egg, beaten |

DIRECTIONS: |
- Melt the butter or margarine in a pan, stir in the flour, and cook for 1 minute. Remove from the heat and stir in the stock and milk.
- Return to the heat and boil, stirring, for 3 minutes, or until thickened.
- Stir in half the cheese, mustard, and basil. Remove from heat , let cool slightly, and stir in the egg.
