Alfredo Sauce with Cream Cheese

INGREDIENTS:
1 stick butter
8 oz cream cheese, softened
12 oz fresh shredded Parmesan cheese
4 cup half-and-half
about 2 tsp garlic powder
OPTIONAL generous dash of nutmeg
fresh cracked pepper, to taste
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Add butter to saucepan and melt over low heat. Add cream cheese and mash up lumps. Add Parmesan and stir.

  2. Add half-and-half and continue stirring. Add garlic powder, nutmeg and some pepper and continue stirring over low-medium heat until thoroughly heated.

  3. Serve over hot fettuccine noodles with your choice of toppings.
